I have a 2019 jeep Cherokee. It makes a very loud rumbling noise as if it doesn’t have a muffler (it does). I took it into the dealership and they told me there’s a hole in the exhaust system, likely due to it rusting out somehow. The dealership will replace the entire exhaust system for $2000 but when I told the employee, I didn’t want to do that right now he suggested another shop might be willing to do a patch or something to that effect (I assume some kind of automotive welding).
What kid of shop should I look for and is it worth it to try and do a patch job or should i just scrounge up 2K? Any advice would be appreciated.
