Vehicle: 2005 Kia Pregio van, RHD
Hey everyone,
Bled my brakes a couple of years ago and they then were spongy... clearly got air in the system. I had another car so didn't get around to solving this until now. The van was still driveable but braking performance definitely went down.
Just tried bleeding the brakes again and still spongy. I can push the pedal to the floor, but it does take some force. If breaking harshly, it takes a lot of force to brake hard and I can't lock up wheels. Bled again and still the same... maybe slightly better.
I'm doing a 1 man bleed with the bottle, greasing the valves so air doesn't get in, topping up fluid reservoir...
Bleed order: - drivers rear brake drum - LSPV valve (mounted at rear, over axle) - passenger front - driver front
There is no bleed valve on passenger rear.
The van takes 0,7L of fluid. I used 1L for the most recent flush and then about 0,3L for the bleed.
Can anyone spot anything wrong with what I've done?
Do I need to keep bleeding some more? How many pumps of the pedal per brake do you recommend?
Thanks!
