How do I describe this damage to a mechanic so I won’t get scammed?

This is a 2008 Toyota matrix. I think some rats chewed these wires/tube up. I think the cap on the coolant thing is also missing. I have 3 shops within a mile or two of me, I want to go by them all and see who will fix this for the cheapest. How do I describe this so I sound like I have any clue I know what I’m talking about and won’t get scammed? Also any idea what this would cost? Thank you!!
