Can’t source parts for DIY work
Post Body

Anyone else find it difficult to source parts for certain models still? Wife has a 2020 Escape. I can’t get an air filter for the engine. No parts stores around me, including Walmart, have one in stock or available to order. Had to have the dealer replace it while getting service done. Now the right rear shock is leaking, but I can’t get one from anywhere including Rock Auto. Only thing I can find are front shocks. Local shops can’t get them either. Dealer wants $350 for 2 rear shocks plus $200 to install. I’ve never experienced this before in my 15 years of car ownership. Does Ford run a monopoly on their parts for late model cars now?
