Car not shifting correctly. What could the problem be?
Post Body

Car: 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S Sedan 250,000 miles CVT

I can put it in R and it moves I can put it in D and it moves

Once driving the car, it stays in 1st but will not go into 2nd until rpm is above 2500 for about 10 secs

When it is near shifting, it makes a high pitch whine noise

When going into a complete stop, It will sometimes not accelerate but can continue coasting

Repairs so far: New belt and belt tensioner (Due to alternator failing) Speed sensor

Transmission fluid is a clear see through brown color I understand it needs a change but it should not be causing these issues. Am I correct?
