I feel dumb asking.. but I’ve only ever owned one automatic transmission vehicle and it was an old Dodge v8 where you could accelerate slowly to get best mpg. Because you could get it to shift as soon as the next gear could be held over 12-1300 rpm’s. This van is telling me I’m getting 13mpg but while on a short road trip recently, I reset the thing and it said damn near 30. Accelerating slowly doesn’t seem to be the best way to drive this thing and I’m driving almost exclusively rural country roads with nice long coasting stretches but random stop signs and whatnot.. the same roads I could get 11-12 with in that old dodge being easy on the gas.
