I have a 1992 dodge d150 the original motor got wore out and we replaced it with a 95 Dakota 3.9 v6 it’s been in it for 8 years and not a problem so far but idk if there’s a difference between the years with the v6s but just in case I’ll mention that but my problem started when it got colder in the mornings it would idle a little off but that was all for about 2 months and then I drove it for a long time one day about 3 hours in total compared to normal 15 minutes to work and when I got right at about 3 hours the truck acted like it lost all power to the motor for a second and then got it back again and that was all it did till the next morning it started jumping and jerking you can let it idle and it’ll misfire terrible and then when you put in drive it’s like it shakes the motor till it stalls u can even hear the hood shaking but I’ve replaced all throttle body sensors injectors distributor and the cap and button spark plugs and wires the coolant temp sensor the egr valve I’ve went thru the hole truck with a multi meter and everything is getting the right amount of power to everything I did a compression test all cylinders were at 150 psi except cylinder 1 was at 160 psi I did a fuel pressure test and I’ve forgot the reading but It passed the only codes I get is for a tourque converter lock up but I’ve disconnected the plug in on the transmission and it still misfires it seems like the truck will get power to the plugs but the spark doesn’t seem to be enough and also when the motor starts shaking it makes a hissing noise almost and it either dies or it revs back up just to do it again u can stay on the gas pedal and keep the truck alive but it just bellows out white smoke and the plugs I have to clean every time I think it’s better cause the motor I keeps flooding one day there was so much gas it was dripping off the plug I know that was a lot but I’m not for sure what all u need to know
