Opinions on AAMC sample test scaling/difficulty
Post Body

Hey gang,

A couple of quick questions regarding the AAMC sample test & my outlook as an 8/26 tester (thanks in advance for any advice!).

So I wrote AAMC FL1 last week, scoring a 509 (128/126/127/128) but didn't want to burn through FL2 too early. I just finished the sample test & have been browsing score converters/reddit opinions to gauge where my score lies and how representative it is of my ability right now.

So on the practice test, I got:

C/P: 45/59 -> this appears to be a 127

CARS: 47/53 -> (...) 130

B/B: 53/59 -> (...) 130

P/S: 53/59 -> (...) 130

In other words, a 517

From what I've read, the consensus is that the sciences are reasonably representative and the CARS is either inflated or accurate. Going into this today, I hadn't touched much C/P since FL1 so this was a fine score to see. I agree that the CARS was much easier than FL1, but B/B / P/S felt about as tricky and so I tentatively feel great about these.

My goal is a 515 and I'm 3.5 weeks out. I'm putting 40-50 hrs a week in, and so my question is really:

Should I feel confident in this score, barring CARS (maybe 128?)?

Thanks again, cheers!
