Owner bought not one, not two, but THREE lots in a development, built three single family homes, then conjoined them into this monstrosity. He also claimed the shared retaining pond as his (second pic). Hasnât been listed for sale so unfortunately no interior pics but owner has between $3.5M and $8M into it based on public records. Neighborhood goes for around $750K.
For the same money he could have bought a 10,000 sq ft mansion on several acres in the area. You can buy anything for more than itâs worth. Doesnât make it expensive.
Hey I mean to each their own but it is hillbilly as hell to build something that size in a subdivision. The sad part is if you look back at this particular property it used to be part of about 20 acres that had a cool old house with multiple out buildings (I think they raised horses) and there was actually an island in the middle of the pond with a bridge to it for entertainment use (there was a dock and party building). The whole thing went into a state of disrepair in the 90s, got bought by a developer, leveled and subdivided. Unclear why they removed the island in the pond. Maybe to discourage swimmers.
You did look at the aerial right? It is three homes merged into one with an attempted overtake of a shared holding pond. It is the epitome of cheap trying to look expensive.
It has never been listed so there are no interior photos. My understanding is if it is not publicly listed, the address should not be posted. It is in Ohio
Dude. Itâs a retention pond for a subdivision. Come on.
Original house that was demoed for the subdivision had a private pond with an island. This is just someone who canât afford acreage trying to live hood rich.
So if I take two Maximas and weld them together itâs a Rolls?
Weird, I donât see a price limit in the rules. This house just shows money canât buy class. Typical McMansion.
Why would I be jealous of this when my house is actually comparable to the second one I linked? I have multiple acres, privacy, and a custom build designed by a reputable architect. You keep making assumption after assumption and youâre really not hitting anything correctly. Just because something is âpurpose builtâ doesnât make it NOT a McMansion, in fact most McMansions (including this one) are purpose built to be what they are.
You are so clueless. He didnât âdrop $11Mâ on this home. He BORROWED $11M. That means he DOES NOT HAVE THE $11M.
THERE IS NO LISTING. Can you not read? Mortgages are public record. This guy has spent $11.5M on a house that reasonably might sell for a quarter of that.
Again, itâs not public so I canât share the address. Did you not see the aerials? It is right on top of other houses. You have to be trolling my man.
And this is the aerial from the 90s, before the original house was demolished and the land subdivided. This is an actual private pond. You can see the bridge, dock, and entertainment area on the island.
Since you donât believe me, here is the survey showing the pond is in face shared.
It is 100% a retention pond. Itâs not publicly listed so I believe the rules are to not post the address. But yes, this is a shared retention pond. I know someone who lives in the subdivision; the fountains were put in by the HOA, not this dude. You seem to be confusing this guy with someone who has money. He has financed every expansion on this house and is in debt up to his eyeballs. He canât afford acreage with a private pond, so he pretends the retention pond in his subdivision is his. This is the true embodiment of the McMansion lifestyle.
R&H has decent quality. Their designs are trendy and uninspired. They advertise as a custom builder but are really just a tract builder with nicer finishes.
How are you calling it private? A private lake by definition must be entirely on a single parcel. His neighbors to the left in the aerial as well as three homes on the other side of the retention pond (not lake) all share the pond. The property lines roughly bisect the pond at the midpoint (sort of where the righthand fountain is placed.
So to be clear he owes $11.5 million on the home. All the money put into it is borrowed. Still think it was a great investment? As mentioned in the OP, neighborhood average is about $750K. No one who can afford to buy this guy out will EVER consider this property when you can get the same sized home in the area on 10 acres for less than $10M.
Hey man just because you have poor taste doesnât make this not a McMansion. Itâs ok if you like shit architecture. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
If you would have read some of my other comments here, you would have seen that the owner runs a clear pyramid scheme. Since you obviously donât understand how lending works, let me explainâŚthe bank wants to see proof of income. They donât care how much money you HAVE, just your ability to repay. This guy can show it because he runs a Ponzi scheme. Also, if you donât know, Ponzi schemes are illegal. Itâs just a matter of time before he gets busted and the government owns that house. There is actually another McMansion a couple miles away that just went to auction after being repoed by the federal government as part of a fraud case.
Do you literally not understand the point of this sub? Clearly you donât understand what a McMansion is, so maybe the whole thing is just over your head.
Ok you clearly donât understand real estate if you think the OP monstrosity is worth more than the actually nice house I just shared. But by all means waste your money bud.
Whatâs inside actually has minimal impact on value sorry to tell you. Even going from low end to luxury finishes is maybe $500K.
That house is actually 2 miles CLOSER to the city center than the house in the OP, dude. If you zoom out I bet you can find the original house.
Just admit youâre making a bunch of baseless assumptions and every time I prove you wrong, you move the bar.
As an example, here is what you can get for less than $3M in the area (this is very near the home in the OP). Still think this one is worth more than $3M??
Dude this is in Ohio, itâs not worth $3M. You also clearly have no idea how real estate is valued.
There is no way this sells for more than $3M. There are houses in the area with these amenities and actual private acreage going for less than $3M. Your entire argument thus far has been based on terrible and incorrect assumptions. Have a good one.
So taking out $11.5M in loans is âaffording itâ? Youâre out of touch.
The delivery van is actually his company van.
Haha yes because a car is used it is âdirtyâ. I can see why you are âforever singleâ. Personality never came in. Sad state of affairs when that happens.
Yeah honestly really unclear how this was ever approved.
Ok you literally sound 12 years old. But go ahead and waste your money buying new. You are picking the absolute weirdest things to criticize and have some strange need for validation. No, I donât want to help you with your daddy issues.
Wow are you really trying to convince me youâre cool? Also, youâre kind of proving your lack of reading skills based on the fact that I own none of those cars.
Aww and you think posting about skateboarding is cool? Like grow up dude.
Well that really hurts coming from you.
Yes surely nothing âMcâ about it.
Oh so now Iâm a brat, too. Youâre gonna have to read it if I type it so why donât you just scroll back up to your first comment and lo and behold youâll see your other account! Funny thing is you argue just as terribly with or without punctuation.
Oh Iâm the clown now. You donât even know how to use punctuation, buddy.
You obviously read numerous levels into this conversation and now you canât be bothered to look at the username? That Canadian education system really showing its weaknesses here.
Why would I need to tell you the username? You can read right? Whatâs weird is that youâre trying to justify being such a troll haha. Have a good one buddy. Iâll let you get back to posting about whatever dumb shit you think is so much cooler than talking about cars.
Ok yeah you dug 14 levels into the comments to add that but youâre not the other guyâŚright.
Youâre gonna have me believe two losers from Toronto just happened to come on to troll this post? You really have a hard on for me. Iâm flattered.
Why donât you go back to commenting under your other account cool guy?
Who would disable autocapitalization?
Are your comments supposed to make sense?

No he is basically the top of a pyramid scheme.
