Am I in the wrong for calling out on mother’s day even though I took it off in advance.
Post Body

Basically about a week ago while the Gm was making the schedule, I told him sorry, but I couldn’t work the coming Sunday because of Mother’s Day. I get that usually it’s a 2 week notice for a day off but whoops sorry. I told him before he was even remotely close to done with it. He groaned but said ok, and asked if there was any chance I could come in but later than normal and I said I’d see with my mom but probably not. Then I look at the schedule for the upcoming week and I’m scheduled for the normal time. I texted the work gc and asked someone to ask him what was up since none of us have his # and to say that I couldn’t come in and I told him that already. He responding through a co worker and said that if I don’t come in I’m fired. Now I’ve been there for 2 years, I’m the only person that’s comes in in time to help when all the day people are leaving and before the night people come in, and stays all the way till close and sometimes stay late and help close pretty frequently. So this pissed me off and I called the store and started tweaking and he just reiterated that if I didn’t come in I was done. I started to text people and one of those being a manager, told me that the Gm had texted the manager gc and told them that if I found coverage I was good, which he didn’t mention to me, and so I ultimately found coverage but I’m so infuriated at the situation. 2 years of my like 4-5 days a week every week. I’ve trained countless people come in on several days off and stayed late an endless amount. And just like that over 1 shift that I call out of that I shouldn’t have been scheduled for in the first place he threatened to fire me. I don’t call out that often and considering people call out every day and don’t get fired i don’t get what the deal is.
