Have anyone's stores had to open late due to being understaffed? We had to open an hour and a half late today unexpectedly. I open most days and we are always understaffed but we make it work. Do things we need to get the store opened up. Then do the other smaller things that can be done slowly. Like stocking.
I got here at 4:02 we open at 5 but openers come in at 4. Not a big deal if you're a few mins late as a lot of the morning people are. As long as it's not more than like 10 mins. It's not an issue. I was the only one here. Not even the opening manager was here. She got here pretty soon after. It was me and her for a good 30-40 mins. Another worker came in and he's probably gonna end up loosing his job as he was clearly either intoxicated or under the influence of something. He was stumbling around. Running into things. At one point he got into the fridge under the prep table and was like leaning over it and trying to open it. When he got it open. He grabbed something out and spilled it and tried to pick it up slowly.
Another person came in around 5:30 and another around 6. Still super understaffed. Had people from other stores come in. We are staffed for service. Kinda. Probably like 5 more people people and we would be good.
I've been running toast bake. Back wall (fried product) and grill since I got here. Doing other small things. Dropping hashbrowns. Etc. I'm on break now. Super early break. I'm here from 4am-3pm today. And we only get one half hour break. Trying not to die.
Is it just a local thing that we are so understaffed or is it in a lot of locations? I've only been here for a month and a half. So I don't know.
