Is there anything like Midiinfo for Pd?

I've been trying to find something like Max's Midiinfo object for PureData, but so far my search has been fruitless. I'm pretty deep into Pd, but one thing I really miss from using Max was being able to put Midiinfo into a patch and select a device without having to go through the settings menu each time. I know about get-midi-dialog, but it doesn't really provide the sort of functionality I'm looking for. Any thoughts?
