Note: This post does contain spoilers from the 7/16 episode of Bad Batch. Please watch if you don't want spoilers. I am can't figure out to block the spoiler parts on my phone so I apologize for looking too lazy to just white the spoiler parts.
Let's be honest. As genius as Palpatine's execution of Order 66 was, I believe he was too short sighted. In the end, I imagine it was a matter of keeping 66 simple so that clones could easily interpret and execute the order. But as we are seeing in the Bad Batch, this clearly was not enough.
SPOILER PART
In the 7/16 episode, Captain Howzer refuses to turn over the Bad Batch as well as his Twi'lek allies. While doing so, he also convinced other troops in his squad to lay down their arms in a plea to remember they were there to help the people of Ryloth, not enslave them.
Unfortunately, this leads to their arrest. But it is a clear indicator that the clones don't enjoy being conquerors. But as I mentioned, I think it highlights my main point in saying Palps half-assed Order 66.
Rather than it stating the end of the Jedi, it should have also annotated the need to eliminate enemies of the new empire.
Again, maybe Palpatine might have thought the empire may not have happened or not, but under the assumption that he knew it was sure fire that he'd convert the Republic in the Empire, he goofed.
