(I have a picture of this from the book but apparently that canāt be added here š)
The book āRed Blade: Rise of the Inquisitorā is about a near-Human female Jedi who falls to the Dark Side after being disillusioned with her Order during the Clone Wars. One good reason for this (but a very small one which isnāt really mentioned again) is the Jedi Order completely ignoring the Confederacyās active strip-mining of the planet Praadost II thus critically damaging the planetās air quality.
They claim this is because the Chancellor and the Senate are wise and able to discern what is best and proper for winning the war effectively.
Master Adi Gallia says āJedi are working closely with the Senate and the Chancellor. Jedi are called to serve, and you must serve.ā
Master Yoda comes out with āknow the Chancellorās mind, you do not. But an important part to play, you have.ā
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL AND ABSURD. I get how the Jedi Order is not at all the same thing as the Senate (which is a sickened collection of damned filthy parasites) but surely they could get how they were meant for more than simply executing whatever decision they got?!?
Praadost II suffered because the Jedi were too busy taking orders from the man responsible for the suffering to comprehend what was going on and stop it. I donāt believe the Jedi were actually bad, but I do believe they were dumb and overconfident. I can see how Tyranus and Sidious believed victory was possible. The Jedi abdicated all ability and willingness for independent action while sacrificing the people needing them.
ELVENKINGGIL-GaLAD seems to be frustrated with how rigidly the Jedi are portrayed in Canon, missing the nuance from the Legends.
