Just picked up this FN Israeli rifle with the typical 7.62 rechamber, I don’t think anyone’s really touched it since it came with the CAI tag, 2000 dated newspaper in the cardboard box, and still covered in cosmoline. I noticed the rear sight is very loose and floppy. Obviously the screw is missing and I intend on replacing it, but will that solve the looseness? I compared it to a typical Mauser I have and it does appear to be missing a flat spring between the sight and barrel, but the sight collar also looks different and I don’t see how a flat spring would fit in the same way.
