Hello I was hoping to get some help. I have an old Mauser 98 that’s been in our family for ever. It was converted to a sportsman along the way. I had it rebuilt a few years ago and then put it away. Got it out and have some range time and taking it deer hunting.
But I really have no idea when it was made or any history. I have attached a few photos which I hope help.
Few questions and help is appreciated.
The bolt seams to have a bit of slop but it works well. Is that normal or is there a way to tighten it up?
Can I use those 5 round ammo clips either this model and if so where to get a few?
Any recommend sources to learn a bit more about mausers or a book about ou the history of the company and such.
