People can't defend Acolyte without criticizing past Star Wars

A little conversation I (green) had with some people, oddly enough on a Lord of the Rings FB group.
There are only two ways people defend the Acolyte: 1. Assuming you're a bigot 2. Tearing down past Star Wars
Yes, other movies and shows in the franchise have issues, but they do not excuse the problems with the Acolyte.
