Tempur-pedic Ergo Smart base questions (please help me)

I'm desperately trying to figure out if I can use the Ergo Smartbase with my existing bed frame. We have a very nice (to us) head board and footboard and I have been told that the Ergo Smart Base can fit inside your existing frame.

My frame's dimensions are: 76.5" X 82". The Ergo's dimensions are 75.5" X 79".

In theory it should fit, but I didn't know if there needed to be any type of clearance on each side as there is only about 1" horizontally. Does anyone have any ideas here? I can't seem to get anyone on the phone at Tempur that knows for sure. Thank you!
