I believe that b27 must be under a brain submission type of issue that makes him submit to the bidding of whoever could be controlling the machine that we have seen diagrams of radio transmitter looking satellite on a van and that's why he could have been talking strangely. The other idea is that the serum is making him split his mind into two, one still fully devoted to Nelson's cause and the other trying to escape and warn anyone before it's too late.(It could also explain why he doesn't believe he was the one that hit wood).
