Hiya,
I feel like I used to be able to solve equations like these, but now I'm having difficulties.
Question:
If Annie eats an apple every 50 seconds, and Bert eats and apple every 40 seconds. How long will it take for them to eat 30 apples total? How many apples will each have eaten?
I think this translates to 50a 40b = t (t for time) and a b = 30.
But I'm making some error when solving this.
I guess we can say every apple Annie eats, Bert eats 1.25 apples. But that works for these numbers. I'm looking for a way to solve this with less convenient numbers.
If anyone knows how to solve this, I'm here to learn :D
