[Geometry] Building a dormer, trying to figure out the angle at which it meets the roof

Post Body

This is a slightly odd request probably, but I'm building a roof dormer and I cannot find anything online that tells me at what angle a dormer roof meets the house roof.

I'll try to adequately describe the situation for you since pictures are not allowed. The house roof as a 45 degree slope and the dormer roof as a matching slope. I'm building a gabled dormer, so (looking directly at the roof) the front wall of the dormer is perpendicular to the ground. The dormer roof sits at 45 degrees and the house roof behind it slopes away from the dormer also at 45 degrees. Therefore, I'm wondering what angle the dormer roof needs to be cut at to meet the house roof without any gaps.

I made a paper mock-up (because I'm not good at math) and it appears to be 50 degrees on the acute angle. Is there a math equation that can confirm this?

Thank you very much!

Oh. Okay. Didn't want to get in trouble.

In that case, here are some pictures of my mock up to give you a better idea of what I'm doing. http://imgur.com/a/en270
