I am someone who is considering a career switch from accounting to become an RMT. I am deeply unsatisfied working a job that requires me to sit for most of my day and I love the idea of being in a therapeutic environment. I am a very active person who works out a lot and I love to share information. It would be cool to be giving a massage and educating the client about the muscle I'm massaging or just peacefully giving the client a massage.
But I'm also super hesitant to do the career switch because it would mean redoing school and having to start fresh. I'm hoping to make a 7 year game plan to determine what it would take to make this dream a reality and if this is truly what I want to do.
Have you noticed any personality traits of a massage therapist that tend to be common?
I also love the idea of getting certifications in other therapeutic practices like Indian head massage, body wraps, cupping, etc.
