ELI5 please?

I am trying to convince my local, small town, low-tech newspaper to run a story on the websites you all have been exposing. Can someone ELI5 what you're doing for me to help explain it to a mostly tech illiterate journalist? Also, what is a good way to refer to these sites besides "fake news?" I feel like that phrase has lost pretty much all significance.
