Did Andromeda sacrifice good story and (more or less) interesting characters for the open world?

Post Body

Firstly I've only finished Voeld as it took me ages because it got a little boring - it was like EOS just with snow and Angaran giving me quests instead of humans, like exactly the same.

Don't get me wrong the game is decent, but it just seems very shallow. I haven't met a single character so far that I'm interested in hearing their story. There you have Ashley 2.0, Liara 2.0, Wrex 2.0, Liam is a bland Jerk, I don't even remember the Turians name but she's, Peebee looked interesting at first but is just the obligatory rebel, oh and there's Javik 2.0.

The enemies are basically Collectors, the story is as unoriginal as it gets - "create outposts while there's a cluster wide thread for evil aliens".

The worlds and quests are repetivive, I've only done two planets but if the rest will be "activate monoliths, cleanse Vault, do some fetch quests" as well I'm not sure if I can finish this game.

So I feel like ME:A dropped all it's previous games strengths for the open worlds - which aren't even good in first place.
