Marxist writing on utopian communities
Post Body

Does anyone know of any good Marxist writing on the actual history of utopian communities?

Obviously there's the famous Engels essay, but his focus there is on utopianism as a system of thought, rather than as a practice. I'm wondering if any Marxists have done a historical materialist analysis of the waves of utopian movements that sprung up, for instance, in 19th century & mid-20th century America.
