While we all poor over the Ant Man Quantumania trailer and peek back the layers for Easter eggs, we have to assume that Marvel is doing what they do best, manipulate trailers and placing big distractions in front of the real thing.
We lament over the missing Modok or theorize that Bill Murray is in fact pre-Modok. We assume Scott dies (so do I) and surmise how.
What do I think they are hiding?
Kang.
But not THAT Kang. Not the one in the trailers, but the one that would BECOME Kang.
Young Nathaniel Richards. Aka Iron Lad. Aka the Young Avengers version of Nick Fury. In the comics Nathaniel brings the you Avengers together after coming back in time to find the Avengers, who have disbanded after Scarlett Witch goes mad (gasp).
It is even the act of Richard’s saving Cassie from death by the hands of Doctor Doom that inevitably drives him to become Kang. It would not be beyond Marvel to change this to Richard’s searching out Cassie and family in the Quantum Realm and saving her and them from Kang and kick starting the assembling of the Young Avengers.
But it’s not just the result of the beginning of the Young Avengers that will change the MCU, it’s Nathaniel Richards and his lineage that changes a major part of things.
In the comics Richards is very closely related to Reed.
But last time I checked - this Kang is a much darker complexion than the comics.
Which means Reed, and possibly ALL of the Fantastic Four - will be black.
Reed - Jay Ellis Sue - Naomi Acki Johnny - Jessie T. Usher Thing - Aaron Pierre
