You really think saying like "Xavier did a worldwide mind wipe making everyone forget about mutants" is any less ridiculous than that? And that connecting mutants to a Multiverse shtick that everyone is already sick and tired of is a "better pill to swallow" for said people?

So we can have giant celestial beings that are responsible for the creation of the earth suddenly come out of nowhere and be responsible for it all but for Mutants we need a convoluted ahh backstory reality rewrite when we can just say theyve been in hiding?
