After playing this game since launch, something finally just snapped inside me and I realized I was no longer having fun with this game. It just got exhausting bouncing from game to game just praying my opponent didn't have the specific tech card that invalidated my entire game plan, or banging my head against my desk every time the center point of my deck was the very last card. And every week, a new card comes in, and the only way to keep up with the meta is bleed every dollar for a CHANCE at whatever spotlight card is new, and if you do get it it'll be nerfed within a week, and we do it all over again.

The system for obtaining cards makes it impossible to have what you need for a lot of decks. Again, playing since launch, 11,000 CL, yet I don't own Grandmaster. Or Black Knight, or Jeff, or Marvel Boy, or Beta Ray, or Iron Lad, or War Machine, or Cull Obsidian, or Darkhawk, or Annihilus, or Alioth, or Arishem. Even if I wanted to, there is no way to outright buy these cards. Just sit and wait for a Spotlight, or a season pass skin, or god forbid a series drop. It's not even good monetization, it's just tiring. Any attempt at a fun deck is killed by Red Guardian or Shang-Chi or Enchantress, or whatever tech happen to be around. These decks are becoming less fun to fight against, more painful to prepare for, and half of my deck is dedicated to ensuring the other half doesn't get shut down by a stray Killmonger.

Every fun card gets killed by tech, and every boring as sin card becomes the meta you have to deal with for the rest of the month until something new is added, and I just not longer feel like trying to keep up anymore. It's just death by a thousand cuts at this point. Turn 6 Magik draw, turn 1 Iceman, Gambit somehow sniping the most important card you have on the field, all the locations to just make you want to die, I just can't do it anymore. I'm gonna go play Rivals, cuz I just can't be here.
