It's been one year since I started playing this game and I thought I'd come in with some of my basic stats and and hopefully get some information on how I'm doing.
Info:
As previously mentioned I've been playing for a year, entirely F2P, zero cash spent. I have my 2*s up and farming, I always get to 400 points in PvP, and do my best to get the farthest possible in PvE. If I get bored of the game (which I have in spurts) I still get to 400 in PvP, but I just try and get to the first Hero Point reward in PvE and then stop.
Me: Day 365 Level 78 110 roster spots. 2/8 1* (One of them is a place-holder for a 4* ) 13/14 2* (Don't have Bagman) 47/47 3* (All Champed) 46/67 4* (None champed) 2/25 5* (BB & Spidey)
First 2* : Purple Hawkeye. This was what I got from my first Heroic Token. I spent so long trying to get it to go off in game.
First 3* : Blue Scarlet Witch. A low powered Arcane Incantation is incredibly underwhelming. I paired this with my 2* and tried my best to get as many purple tiles surround the timer as possible. It rarely worked.
First 4* : Green Captain Marvel. While a great character, this power didn't really help me much in the beginning, as goon nodes don't really make matches. Fortunately, it did help me as soon as PvP started up and the highest rated characters on both sides were the same. (It also helped that I learned I can click on the enemy team and see what their strongest color was.)
As you can probably tell from my current roster I'm in the 3-4* transition. I'm going about this by primarily rostering those 4* s given as champion rewards from 3s (hence the placeholder 1 ) before opening my LL token hoard and spending my CP hoard. If one of my 3s isn't near level 183, I open my tokens until I get a 4 I don't have.
Mistakes I made:
These were just when I started out, but I ended up spending HP on a Heroic Token... which got me a 2* , and then spending some HP for a shield in PvP when I was top 25... I didn't make top 100. Those are the only things I really consider a "mistake". Some might consider the fact that I've been letting some 4*s go to waste as a mistake, but I don't mind so much about that.
As well, I didn't know at first that goons auto generated colors. So I was furious when they were able to set off powers with what I thought was an insufficient amount in that color.
And the last thing I would probably consider a mistake is that back in September when I had accumulated a good number of LL tokens and CP, I got really sick. Sick enough that to make myself feel a little better I opened up all my tokens and spent all my CP. Should I have done this? Probably not. Do I regret it? A little. Would I have done it again? Probably. I wasted the majority of the tokens, but I was able to get some good powers for the 4* s I had.
Things I wish they'd revert:
I really really liked the change they made to PvP rewards where it was the number of wins that gave rewards and the points as a ranking. Sure, I ranked lower overall, but I was able to consistently get the 4* reward for that little while. I enjoyed that.
As well, I never got to see the wonder that was C4rol paired with 1 turn tiles before they introduced repeater tiles. Sigh, I was really looking forward to that at the time. I understand that it was really overpowered so I'm not too broken up about it.
Luckiest I've been:
When I opened up one of the 10 Heroic Packs from the PvP season, I ended up getting 3 4* s and 3 4* bonus heroes. C4rol was my bonus hero at the time, and one of the normal 4*s was also her. The other two were Rogue which was a good pickup for me.
Unluckiest I've been:
Probably not any more than any other player, but when you're waiting on a specific color for your 2* s and they just won't come. I think it was approaching 2 weeks before I finally got a blue for my 5/5/0 Captain America.
Conclusion:
This game is a lot of fun, if a grind at times. I take small breaks so that I don't get burned out. Doing the minimum for a while helps there. PvP is great for that too, I find that it's PvE that really gets the burnout going.
So thoughts?
