Is it weird that the writers’ stand in is the “One-above-all”?

Maybe its just me but isn’t that weird? I know that literally, yes, the writer does control everything that happens in their story. But it still seems odd to me, I mean how often do other writers in fiction do something similar right? Like Tolkien doesn’t act like he is Eru, or you don’t get the sense in star wars that George Lucas is above the force or that he'd want himself depicted that way. Kinda comes across a bit arrogant or unhealthy. I mean some of the art Ive seen of the One Above All is pretty intense too.
