Mine is the Amazing Spider-Man's ATCQ Midnight Marauders album cover variant, not just because Peter Parker is my favorite Marvel character, but the choice of the hiphop group and the album cover PERFECTLY encapsulates Peter's personality and all the supporting cast and villains around him.
In the variant cover, you see Peter hanging upside down in his classic spidey pose and behind them you see supporting members like Aunt May, JJJ, and villains such as like Shocker and the Vulture. But it's also nice to see his Spider-Family members in that pic as well such as Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Spidey 2099, and Miles Morales. Oh, and Mockingbird looks real nice as well in the cover.
Not only does this variant show a lot of new characters besides Peter's classic supporting cast, but having ATCQ's Midnight Marauders album as the choice for the album was damn spot-on Spectacular. And what I mean by this is this:
A Tribe Called Quest is a group that hails from Queens in New York, just like Peter Parker. Not only that, but this group was part of the late 80's to early 90's hiphop movement called the Native Tongue. And from what I understand, it was about being yourself and not worrying about fitting in with others to make yourself look cool and as a result of that a lot of the artists in this movement such as them, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, and many others kind of came off as the original dorks in that hiphop movement. Much like how Peter Parker is the original dork in the comics world, perse.
And the Midnight Marauders is one of the most best-selling, famous and classic albums of the golden age of hiphop (1988-1993 for most people, but arguable). Which serves clear justice as the perfect hiphop album variant choice for the one of the best-selling comics of all-time.
Well, that's my favorite. Which one's yours? :D
