I wasn't sure about her identity status, so I decided to go on my Marvel Unlimited APP and look into a book called, Heroic Age: Superheroes. And that book is about all the heroes around the Heroic Age regarding their heroic strengths and weaknesses and it also tells whether their identity is protected or not.
And I went to Spider-Woman's page and it said that her identity was protected from the public eye. So I've said to myself, "Ok. So her identity is a secret from the public eye."
But then there was this one part in the Bendis's run of the Avengers from 2010-2012 during one of the tie-in events for Fear Itself where the Avengers were doing a public interview and Carol said Jessica's real name during her interview so I was very confused about that.
But then I read one of the New Avengers's tie-in books for that event where Mockingbird was given a interview and she says that Steve Rogers will make sure that everything that's supposed to remain a secret STAYS secret from the public view, regarding all these Avengers interviews.
So I figured that Jess's civilian identity was safe from the public, because her identity is supposed to be protected so Carol's muttering of Jessica's real name would be censored from the public view.
And here was the weird part about her current run that just ended before Secret Wars: She's complaining about her secret identity being hard to keep when she's wearing a costume that's VERY POORLY DESIGNED for keeping it a secret.
And I don't think her identity is public because she would have chosen a different superhero identity besides Spider-Woman, if she wanted to keep her identity a secret if Spider-Woman became a public identity.
Also, Jessica is about to be a soon-to-be mom. And I think being a public superhero who's about to have a baby and has something to lose is a very bad idea, especially when the bad guys will be easily able to find out where Jessica Drew lives, so I don't think she's a public identity.
So, my friend and I came up with a headcanon that Jessica's identity is known to the Avengers, Shield, Sword, and Hydra, but not the general public.
I guess I kinda answered my own question in the end, but I wanted to know what you thought lol
