Hellboy and Iron Fist team-up, called "Iron and Stone" story by Mingola and written by Matt Fraction. Present-time pages drawn by David Aja and past-time pages drawn by Mignola.
Hellboy's adventures before Hellboy in Hell lead him to the snowy mountains outside K'un-Lun. The dragon has been infected with an Ogdru-Hem and killed an Iron Fist in training, one who would have normally been able to punch the heart and pass the test.
Danny Rand is on his way to K'un-Lun to investigate and crosses paths with Hellboy, offering him a place to crash in the city, since he wouldn't have been able to find it without Danny.
Once they're there, Hellboy hints that he's dealt with this kind of problem before and offers to help. Danny reassures him that he's dealt with this dragon in the past and should figure things out the next day.
In the middle of the night, Hellboy is awoken by the Ogdru-Hem calling him, and he is drawn in a trance to the cave where the dragon resides. An epic battle ensues, and Hellboy ends up drawing the Ogdru-Hem from the dragon. He realizes that he can't defeat the actual dragon, at which point Danny shows up using the power of the Iron Fist to subdue the dragon.
Seeing Danny in costume makes Hellboy think back to a time when he saw something familiar.
When Hellboy was with the B.P.R.D., He and Bruttenholm were investigating reports of a mysterious force in the mountains, but got trapped at an Inn in a snowstorm and got drunk with a blonde guy. He mentioned something about "training," "the future," and "futility."
At some point they're attacked by Nazis who are also searching for K'un-Lun, due to the similarity between the Iron Fist's dragon insignia and that of Rasputin, thinking this fabled dragon could help them awaken the Ogdru-Jahad. The blonde guy is Wendell Rand, a previous Iron Fist, and they fight off the Nazis together. Rand is coming FROM K'un-Lun and Hellboy and Bruttenholm are looking for it, so they never actually mention it to each other. The B.P.R.D. are unable to find the city, give up, and go home.
It totally fits the Mignola style of a 2 or 3 issue small story arc, and would allow for artists like Mignola and Aja to take their time!
