I mean, I feel like people went overkill with the whole Parker Family thing. They say it "ruined" Spider-Man with the whole Parker blood aspect but that didn't make him decide to pick up the mantle nor did it inspire him to take it up in the end. It was Gwen's speech which made him get back into it.
