Marshallese Name for Marshall Islands

Post Body

Isn't Majel the Marshallese pronunciation of "Marshall?" If so, then what did the Marshallese call all their islands put together, as one unit, before the name Marshall was given to them by outsiders? One source says the Marshallese called their islands "jolet jen Anij" (Gifts from God). But what did they call their language and their ethnicity, to differentiate themselves from other peoples and languages? Perhaps they had no word, just "our people" and "our language." Please educate me!
