Let's start a podcast together. No, not producing one, just listening to it. Not... Oh hey, I love this podcast, you should listen to it too... No. Let's find something we both might be interested in and start something new, and see how it goes. If it sucks, we can laugh about how bad it is, and then try something different.

Let's listen to a new album together. Maybe something popular that neither of us had heard yet. Maybe something obscure. Who knows. I know real life has all those responsibilities that, as much as we want to, we can't avoid, but I'm sure we could each pull together an hour in the day, even if it's in bits and pieces. We could set ourselves a deadline, like, let's meet back here tomorrow morning and decide what we think.

We could do the something similar with a recipe. We could pick a meal to try out, or a new ingredient to use. I'm sure your dinner time is different than mine, especially if we aren't in the same time zone. But we could set this plan in motion, and go off to our normal lives, but while we are using that wooden spoon to turn the veggies in the pan, we would be thinking about each other, even if we weren't together at that moment.

And that right there is the thing I am looking for. We all have our own lives, our own rhythms, our own responsibilities. But this connection that you and I have can fit in all those spaces in between. We could find a place in between, I'm talking existential here, where we both bring what we have and what we love and who we are, and we find how well all of our pieces fit together. Its fun to say, let's schedule a date where we can do this together! Believe, I know, it's so romantic! But we have both done this before, right? And we both know how tricky that is to pull off in real time. So what I am suggesting is that we find things, not limited to the above, that we can experience together, as they fit into our own lives, in attempt to feel closer to each other even when we are apart.

Crazy, right? I know.

Don't get me wrong, I want to do all the normal online affair stuff too. I want to chat all day and make up silly inside jokes and have deep conversations, so it's best that we both have a good sense of humor and a good grasp of the English language. I want to send pics and vids of our worlds and ourselves to each other, so it would probably help if we were attracted to each other, I am attractive, you are as well, right? Sometimes differences in time zones work better than others, but I think it's important that our schedules sync up somewhat, this isn't going to work with two or three messages a day. And finally, because, yeah, this post got long, I feel like our energy for wanting to try something different has to match. If you read this post all the way down to this line and thought to yourself, that sounds like a cute idea, it might not be enough. Likewise, if your reaction was OMG, I love you, you're my soulmate!!
