I'm sure most of us have those experiences in our lives that we can't not think about, can't un-remember. Maybe it was a taboo experience- the forbidden fruit, the older man, the professor or boss; It was certainly great, but maybe it ended toxically. Maybe it was a one night thing, never to be repeated, but the memories of the passion and the intimacy persist; maybe it was a cheating situation and you felt so guilty about it.
Whatever it was, those memories come creeping back. Sometimes when it's late at night and we're all alone, under the covers, or our partner is asleep; sometimes, something catches our eye and we are brought right back to that time. A song comes on and you get that longing; you pass by a place and are brought back in time...
The more we try to suppress them, the more vivid they are; the more we try not to, the more we know we shouldn’t, we just can’t not remember...
