Something about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But then, I haven’t done this before. I’m trying something new, making a post in a sea of posts, and hoping that you pick it up.
I’m hopeful, because this has worked before, for me. Not in this forum, but in a penpal sub. I met someone expecting nothing more than a penpal and we connected beautifully. We became best of friends, and then more, over the course of several years. And then she met someone IRL and it came to a natural end. Since I wouldn’t expect that to happen with another traditional penpal, I found this sub to look for people looking for something similar. Responding to posts hasn’t yet worked for me, so here is mine!
I’m probably here for the same reasons you are. I’m looking for a friend first. Getting to know someone at their best and worst, and building the trust, giving space for the vulnerability that comes with that. Watching the chrysalis of a friendship morph into something that sets free the butterflies we crave, filling the gaps in our lives. We’re all a little broken, and maybe filling in that missing piece can help us be the best versions of ourselves. I’d love to share songs and sunsets, wins and losses at home or work, book recommendations and smiles.
I’m married, and don’t expect that to change. My boundaries include understanding this will remain online only, even while thirsting, yearning for more. I have busy kids, a demanding career, a menagerie of animals and too little time, but I’ll make time for you. I’m INFJ-A if that means anything to you. I live in the suburbs, but cherish the snippets of alone time I can find under the trees, or the stars. And I enjoy sharing plenty of pictures of the pretty things I come across - the little magical things in nature. I enjoy getting outside, cooking and baking, reading a broad spectrum of both fiction and nonfiction, watching a few shows (although I don’t often have the patience to binge much at once), and watching and participating in my kids’ activities.
I’m attracted to many different types of women, but I’m happy to trade pictures early, if that’s important to you. As for me, I’m 5’11 and height-weight proportionate, with with hair that’s going gray and eyes that are something between blue and green, depending on what I’m wearing. I’m happy to start here, but would like to get off of reddit eventually. I’d consider any platform for the right person.
I hope to hear from you!
