My wife and I are both bi. She actually came out first, which gave me the courage to come out to her as well a couple days later. I actually told her a long time before that, back when we were still dating but very much in love and committed, about how I had experimented with a friend a couple times after high school. I had never told ANYONE about that so it was a huge thing for me to share with her. My wife is so fucking awesome and handled it perfectly.
So flash forward like 5 or 6 years later and she comes out to me as bi. She talked about how she felt and how she had been thinking on it for a long time. It made me realize I also had those thoughts and after thinking it over for a few days I felt comfortable and honest in coming out as bi to her.
Nothing really changed at first, which I think is amazing. We both are very committed to each other so it was just kinda like “okay, cool fact about each other. What do you want for dinner?” But then we started talking about it more and fantasies we have about the same sex. In doing so, it just really opened up our sex life and now we are having the best sex of our lives. We’ve got young kinds so it diidn’t help being in that new parent rut where it’s impossible to have sex lol.
Anyways, I just wanted to share this story. One thing I found lacking was personal stories when I was feeling out being bi or not. So I hope others can appreciate this as well :)
