i feel guilty but I am often happier when my husband isnt around
Post Body

More of a rant but heres my situation. Been together 16 years (im 39F hes 49) He had 2 kids from previous marriage when we met. The kids at the time were 6months and 18 months.

We have a comfortable life. A home, vacation regularly, hang out with many friends, our now teen boys are thriving.

Anyhow - my husband seems so grumpy all the time, constantly makes comments that he makes all the money so I have no say when it comes to financial decisions. For the most part we jeep our money seperate. He makes 15K more than me a year but we both work 45hours per week. He pays the mortgage I pay for food and all the other bills which leave me with almost nothing and when I bring up needing him to pay for say a large vet bill he belittles me that I should be paying more. Even though I also pay for everything with kids. Sports, clothes ect

Recently I started running, taking care of myself and everyone around me keeps complimenting me. It feels good but the person I want to acknowledge says things like "ya keep going" or " its about time"

I work hard, do all the shopping, all the cooking, he helps with cleaning but he also expects me to help do firewood and any so called "blue jobs" but he wouldnt dare make the family dinner.

I dont know. I feel unappreciated, i know we love eachother and although we never fight sometimes I am happy when he takes of biking because being around him makes me feel like I am either walking on eggshells or feel worthless.
