My husband got credit cards to help build his credit, he maxed them out and I want to see the statements, is that overreaching?
Post Body

So my husband and I worked so hard all summer to get things paid off and build our savings. He started getting credit cards to build his credit so we can buy a house. I knew about some of the things he put on them like a bunch of camping gear for a trip we took. But he told me he maxed them out, totally about 3 grand, and I was gobsmacked. I want to get into the accounts to see exactly what he was spending (especially because he mentioned paying $35 for a video from an OnlyFans girl, but that’s a whole different conversation).

Would it be an invasion of his privacy for me to request to view the statements for the credit cards? I just want opinions before I open that line of communication.

Update: he flat out told me no that he doesn’t want me checking up on him that “I already know what’s on there” and he won’t give me the information

Update2: after completely losing my fucking mind on the phone with him and several hours conversation, he finally agreed to walk me through all the statements. And we’re talking. I ended up cutting up the cards in a blind fury and I haven’t told him about that yet and probably won’t until he gets home. Eek.
