Okay so this is going to be an odd thing to get unnerved by but here it is...I’m (37) used to my husband (30) not telling me anything meaningful about his childhood. He’s mentioned his dog and cat numerous times (we have many pets ourselves). Buttttt...I’ve mentioned to him having various pets growing up as well...a salamander, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, hamsters...
Anywho...he started watching this YouTube video randomly with Jenna Marbles designing her hamster cage...then he mentions how cute hamsters are (🧐) and how much he loved his 2 hamsters growing up (😑🧐🧐). We’ve been together over ten years and practically have a zoo of pets but when I’ve mentioned my childhood hamsters he never indicated or suggested also having hamsters as pets. I’m obviously not mad about his strange omission just weirded out if that makes sense. He’s omitted things before and I’ve only ever found out more critical and more alarming things about his past when he’s casually told his friends, family or even our kids in front of me but...hamsters lol?? I just think it’s the strangest thing to never bring up until now and I’m guessing he only brought it up because he’s not feeling good and is out of it...
Anyone else have a spouse that only reveals things when they’re drunk, sick or around other people? It honestly (not the hamsters) makes me feel like I don’t know the person I’ve been with for a decade when he barely talks to me but will mention things I don’t know about him to strangers, family, friends, our kids... anyone else feel this way? And yes, I know you can’t always know every little thing about even your spouse but I feel like I just get “surface” information about him.
So yea...hamsters😅
