A little while ago, something happened that made me smile. It reminded me why we got married, how much I love my spouse. Seeing the request for more positive content, I thought I would share...
We were standing in our kitchen, and he was getting ready to leave for work. He was standing by the fridge and I was making coffee, and I asked him to hand me the cream. I had my back to him, and all of the sudden I heard "What a Wonderful World" start playing. It was the first song we ever danced to (back in my tiny studio apartment when we first started dating), and our first dance song at our wedding.
I turned around, and he reached out a hand and smiled. He asked, "May I have this dance?"
We just held each other and swayed around the room for the few minutes the song played and when it ended, we shared a kiss and said we loved each other. He had just pulled the song up on his phone, and it made me really appreciate how thoughtful he can be, and how he really is a romantic at heart.
He grabbed his phone and closed the app so it wouldn't play another song, and he opened the fridge and handed me the cream, which I stared at blankly for a moment (had completely forgotten the coffee! Lol) and waited until I had added it and got it put away.
The last thing he said before he left for work, as I followed him to the front door to kiss goodbye, was, "I think it's important to show you how much I love you. Because there is never anyone else I want to dance in the kitchen with."
So, that made my whole day and I just wanted to share something positive. It's been over 10 years, and I love him even more than I did when I first heard "our" song. I would love to know how you've recently shown your spouse your love!
