I don’t know how else to explain this so I’ll be direct. About 3 years ago my wife underwent a breast augmentation surgery. The procedure included a nipple reconstruction and cut around both nipples.
I LOVE this for her and it’s something she wanted however there is an issue and I’m afraid of bringing it up with her because it could be very hurtful.
When the surgery was completed, part of the post op aftercare was to use an anti scar cream consistently to reduce the amount of scarring. However, my wife completely neglected this step and now bares some big scars around the nipple that are very noticeable and quite frankly are a bit unattractive.
I’m wondering if anyone can help with some recommendations on how to approach this from a place of love and humility. I want to mention it and help (however I can, if at all) her see her Dr. to revisit this portion of her surgery recovery that was neglected. In my mind (and I could be wrong) it’s a win-win if approached correctly and received correctly.
(I’m 35, wife is 35 and we’ve been married for over 15 years)
tl;dr: my wife had a breast implant and her nipples are scarred and I’d love for her to see her Dr. but don’t want to hurt her feelings.
