My wife has a close childhood friend from back home (we moved 18 hours away from where we used to live about 3 years ago) the friend is in a bad position…has a kid ..father not in his life…her step father has S.A’d her so living at her with her mom is a very uncomfortable situation because the mom doesn’t believe her. Recently the mom pulled a weapon and threatened to off herself, the daughter and the baby. My wife thinks we should help her by letting her move in..by all accounts she is someone that is smart and ambitious but she’s obviously having a hard time. I’m not having the best feeling about letting her move in and I just want to know if I’m being unrealistic from someone else’s pov. My thoughts are “great we can help her get out of a bad situation…but also what happens when she becomes a burden…what happens when she doesn’t clean up after her self..when does the welcome get worn out”..am I being selfish? Please help
