Spouse just informed me that he was fired from his job today. This is 3rd time within our almost 5 year relationship…

Post Body

I went on lunch break earlier and that’s the first thing he tells me when I come downstairs to eat. I immediately fell sick to my stomach and just turned around to come back upstairs. We’re already having other pretty significant issues in our marriage and to make matters worse, today is his birthday so we had some plans going into the weekend. I don’t really know what to do or say, besides the fact that I am extremely stressed the fuck out. All I can remember, that that when this first happened after we got super serious, I ended up being the sole earner and responsible for EVERYTHING, for damn near a year afterwards, while he was looking for a new job. I can’t do that again, I will NOT do that again, as I had sooo many stress related issues during that time. I can’t concentrate much on my work for the rest of today, as I’m having a difficult time holding back tears. 😢 besides the obvious of him quickly trying to find something else, how do I not completely lose my shit here? I’m well aware that shit happens in life and that includes job loss, etc…but this is the THIRD time of being FIRED from a job since we’ve been together. I’d be a little more understanding if it was the first time. He also claims that everything was great and that this was the first time he’s made a mistake, so he’s not sure why this is happening…

Thank you in advance for any advice. Just trying to hold myself together today 😞😢
