I (32f) feel like my husband (30m) talks to his mom an excessive amount, but I also struggle with insecurities and am hyperaware of the fact that these insecurities are not normal. I have been in therapy for over half my life and have learned to reason with myself and can usually make myself feel more secure when insecurities arise. However, I can’t shake this one.
For ten years I have struggled with relationship my husband has shared with his mom, for several reasons. But it was exacerbated last year when I admittedly looked at our phone records because it seemed he had been cheating. What I found was not that he was cheating, but that it was actually his mother he was always rushing off the phone with me and sneaking away to talk to. Close to 250 calls in a month, which would come out to roughly 7 calls a DAY and hours upon hours of talk time.
So Reddit—for a married man in his 30s, 3 kids 6 and under, a business owner who works sometimes 80hr weeks, his mother and self both in good health—how much does the married man talk to his mom?
