My husband works overseas. A Lot! So he is gone months at a time, leaving me home with the children. And that's fine. Because of his job, I have been able to pursue my passions, I'm currently getting my Masters in History, and he is 100% supportive of that. All he's ever asked of me is that I don't allow myself to become stagnant, and let my life become just kids and home. It's actually one of the reasons we are both ENM, free to pursue other sexual interests. It's worked for us.

He's done this for years, so myself and the children are quite used to this, but one thing that he has always done is make sure that we know that we are always in his thoughts. Today, he stayed up just a little bit longer and got online with our eldest (10) over Animal Crossing so that the boyo could visit Daddy's island (Hubs downloaded AC just because the kids love it so much). Half a world away and the kiddo and Daddy are playing together. It meant the world to our son, just that little thing made his day, and Spouse does that a lot. Just little things like that mean the world to me, let me know that no matter what he's up to, our family is high on his mind.

(I just told the kiddo that the fossil he gave Daddy completed Daddy's Stegasaurus. I just got treated to a full-on dance ROFL. The child is autistic and not given to huge displays of emotion. If you'll excuse me, I'll be over here tearing up.)
