I live in an illegal state and am a 47 year old daily smoker. I have a good job and family but at times I feel bad for using. Are there others like me here?

My wife tells me that I need it for my mood and we’ll being so I don’t feel guilty there. I guess the feeling stems from being in an illegal state and knowing. I could lose my job im although they don’t random. Does anyone else deal with this feeling?
