To me, it’s that I still don’t understand until today why she insists on shading Celine Dion for singing with Aretha Franklin. She went as far as writing this on her memoir. I think Mariah was having a bad vocal day and decided to use that as an excuse. Aretha never said anything ill about Celine. In fact, Aretha shaded Mariah when Mariah joined American Idol
